The New York Times included the Viña Alberdi 2010 in an exclusive selection of the best international wines to enjoy during the winter. Eric Asimov, renowned taster and The New York Times' wine critic chose a selection of wines that stand out for their quality, price (under $20) and pairing potential with winter fare.

In the article titled ‘20 Wines Under $ 20: Reds for Winter Moods and Foods’ Asimov calls La Rioja Alta, S.A. "a reliable source for traditional Riojas" describing the Viña Alberdi 2010 as “a great introduction into the classic Rioja flavours of spicy red fruit framed and cushioned by American oak”. The American critic also offers an enticing food pairing recommendation -"lamb chops”- which are ideal to enjoy with the wine’s “plush textures”.

Viña Alberdi 2010 was made by the Haro winery, La Rioja Alta, S.A. with a selection of Tempranillo grapes from 40-year-old vines planted in Rodezno (La Rioja) and Labastida (Álava). Prior to bottling, the wines was painstakingly aged for two years in American oak barrels. In recent months, it has earned several major international awards in recent months, including second place in the “World’sTop 50 wines under $50” by American critic James Suckling and the Gold Medal received at the International Wine Challenge 2016.
